Senior Portrait Specifications
The required yearbook pose is a color studio vertical head and shoulder shot, just above the waist, with a simple/plain moonlight blue background. Boys must wear jacket and tie and girls must wear an appropriate modest top. A pose with hands, hats, close ups or one showing unusual attire or distracting background is not acceptable as a formal yearbook portrait (see samples below).
These specifications will be stricTly enforced. Any portrait submitted not following these specifications will not be included in the Yearbook.
If you are having your portrait taken by an outside photographer please follow these instructions:
• You must follow the above Senior Portrait Specifications
• The portrait/ digital file can be any standard size (2x3, 4x5, 5x7, 8x10). Digital files must be high resolution (300ppi or higher). The software used to create the yearbook automatically rejects low-resolution files.
• The only file formats that can be accepted are .jpg or .tif. All other file formats cannot be used and will not be accepted.
• Hand Mr. King a standard size print for scanning or attach the digital file to an email sent to yearbook@rtnj.org. Please type Senior Portrait and senior’s name in the subject box of the email ex. Senior Portrait/Joe Smith. All prints will be returned once the senior section is complete.
Any senior who would like to be included in the yearbook but is having difficulty having their portrait taken should see Mr. King in D104 ASAP.
Please note the following State law regarding yearbook portraits. The first paragraph specifically states that portraits by outside photographers must meet the specifications of the yearbook staff.
