Project Graduation

What is Project Graduation?

Project Graduation is a supervised, alcohol-free, drug-free, all-night celebration that all seniors from Randolph High School are invited to attend.  It is an event that is organized by the Project Graduation Committee of the RHS PTA, and has been a tradition in Randolph for more than 20 years.  The goal of Project Graduation is to provide seniors with a safe way to celebrate their graduation.

There are several activities planned to promote Project Graduation.  In March, a breakfast for all seniors is held during class hours.  In May, a picnic for all seniors takes place on the high school field during school hours.  Parent volunteers serve the food and the event is free for seniors.

The main event of Project Graduation is the all-night party that is held on graduation night.

Who can attend Project Graduation activities?

Project Graduation is for Randolph High School seniors only.  In order to attend the all-night party, seniors must board the buses at RHS and return by bus the following morning.  Once at the JCC, no one will be able to leave the facility.

Who will chaperone this event?

50 adult volunteers will supervise the activities.  Other volunteers will be at the JCC to help organize the entertainment and food.  We want to encourage parents of freshman, sophomore, and juniors to get involved in Project Graduation!  Senior parents are also welcome to volunteer.  Take an active role … this is or someday will be your child’s final high school event.

What will the students do at the Project Graduation?

The venue has an oversized gym, a swimming pool, whirlpool, and a huge activity room.  There will be basketball, volleyball, a DJ providing dance music, a casino room, hand-writing analysts, an artist drawing caricatures, photos available, gladiator joust, fortune tellers, karaoke, some surprise entertainment, and lots of food!

What if someone tries to bring alcohol or drugs to the all-night party?

The parents of the student will be contacted and the student will not be allowed to remain at the party.

Who pays for Projection Graduation?

RHS Project Graduation costs over $20,000.  Contributions to Project Graduation are tax deductible.  Some of the main contributors have been the Randolph Township Municipal Alliance Committee, the Randolph PTA Council, Randolph Kiwanis, plus other organizations and businesses.  We are accepting donations now!  Support from other community members is greatly appreciated.

What will this cost the students?

Students must purchase a $20 ticket in order to attend the all-night party.

What will this cost the parents?

Senior parents are asked to make a contribution of $25 or more to Project Graduation.

Is anyone being paid to organize Project Graduation?

No.  Volunteers do all the work for Project Graduation. All the money is spent directly for the benefit of the students and covers the cost of renting the facility and providing entertainment, transportation, and food
How many graduating seniors attend Project Graduation?

In previous years, the participation rate of seniors attending Project Graduation has ranged from 80%-98%.
